I’m excited to announce that of all the weddings that took place at the Resort this past year, our images from Valerie and Ryan’s wedding on August 22, 2009 were chosen for the 2010 Woodlands Resort and Conference Center’s Wedding Brochure! Thanks to Val and Ryan for being a great couple, and thanks to my wonderful assistant Meg Hamlett for helping me to create these images.
I’ve posted some images of the brochure, along with the full-size images of some of the pictures used. To see many more of Valerie and Ryan’s wedding day photos, you can visit my official website at www.edwardcharlesphotography.com and search under “Featured Weddings” for Valerie and Ryan.
A nice cool day and a great couple. Mercer Arboretum is such a nice place. No permits or fees required. Just check in and be professional and shoot as long as you like. Come back to my Blog soon to see Sumer and Chad’s Engagement Party photos from Royal Oaks Country Club.
Allyson and Ryan were married on December 12th, at The Gallery. It was a beautiful night ceremony, followed by a fun, lively reception with lots of dancing!

Here is a Reception Highlights vignette from a Platinum Wedding I filmed in San Antonio. I’ve added a slight “film-look” filter and saturated the colors on many of the scenes.
I should note that I filmed this 100% entirely hand-held with a small digital camera in order to better blend in with the atmosphere of the event. There is never a need for a talented videographer to use any type of rolling tripod, stabilizing device, or some kind of ridiculous “crane” that will distract from the event and interfere with your photographer’s options when working. Joe Buissink was the lead photographer.
Here is another Highlights Vignette from a wedding here in Houston. The ceremony was held in the Chapel at Grace Presbyterian Church and the reception took place in the Grand Ballroom at The Houstonian.
Ann Whittington was the wonderful wedding planner. David and Laurel Lund of Wedding Stories were the great photographers.
Lots of people have asked why Michael was digging through a trash can. Well, it wasn’t really trash. Prior to the ceremony, Sarah scrunched up a bunch of blank paper, and then placed a note to Michael among them. So, he had to sift through all the papers to find the note. THAT’s why he did that! Very unique!
Again, this was all filmed with a small, hand-held digital camera. No stabilizers or cranes needed here!
This is a “Details” vignette from a reception at the beautiful Crystal Ballroom in the Rice Hotel. After the ceremony, I make my way to the reception and film the room before guests arrive.
Again, believe it or not, this is filmed entirely hand-held with a small digital camera. Never a “rolling tripod” to bang into your guests ankles, never a “crane” that causes your guests to quickly duck their heads down whenever the camera operator “swoops” the arm of the crane over the dance floor! It’s true! I’ve seen it happen when I photograph weddings!
Any Rolling Stones fans out there? Here is a clip of possibly the greatest wedding band of all time, a Rolling Stones tribute band. They performed at the Platinum Wedding I filmed in San Antonio. This is a complete clip of one of their songs. Please note that this is actual audio from the band - no overdubbing was added to this video. They even SOUND exactly like the Stones! Don’t you wish you had been at this wedding!?
You’ve heard some people say “Photos are all you have left from your wedding.” Well, that’s not exactly true, is it?
Expect more from your videographer. Expect someone who works WITH your photographer, and not in competition with them. Expect professionalism.
Amanda and Joey were married on August 8th, 2009 at Williams Trace Baptist Church, followed by a beautiful reception at The Petroleum Club in downtown Houston. Come back soon to see more images from their wedding!
Christina and Sam were married on August 1st, 2009. Following their reception, we took some really hot photos along Main Street. Be sure to check my new website soon for more images from their wedding!

Erfan and Yalda were married on June 27 at La Colombe d’Or, one of Houston’s most beautiful wedding facilities. Abraham from Plants and Petals provided the flowers.
Patricia and Jesus met on campus at UH, so it seemed like a perfect place for their engagement session. They will be having a spectacular wedding on July 11 at the Hotel Icon in downtown Houston.
